Child of God or Child of the Devil?
I read a something the other day that I truly agree with. It went something like this: "Whether you marry a Child of God or a Child of the Devil, you still have to deal with the Father-in-Law."
It means that when you are choosing a mate, you better be sure he/she is a saved Child of God if you are a Child of God. And if you're not a Child of God and marry one of His children, you'll always be in His crosshairs. I am fortunate. I have great in-laws who genuinely seem to like me, even love me. But I married one of God's daughters, and that's a truth He reminds me of quite often (Like Right Now!). How we treat our neighbor is important to God, but our spouse is, and always will be, our closest neighbor. I am convinced that fewer divorces would occur if we prayed for our spouse, loved them as we love ourselves, and generally treated them as if they truly were a Child of God.
